Tuesday 7 Jan 2020 Global context: Identities and relationships Inquiry question:  How does knowing and using visual art vocabularies help us understand and interpret works of art?   ELEMENTS OF ART & PRINCIPLES OF DESIGN IN PORTRAITURE Highlights: She used highlights to make the drawing look 3D. for example, she highlighted the nose, so it looks like it is coming out of the paper. Shapes: The artist has used shapes to draw the persons face. Detail: There are so many details to this drawing for example, you could see how the eye is drawn. Value: If she didn’t use value (shadowing) on the nose and neck etc. it wouldn’t look good because it would all look the same color.   She used dark, medium, and light tones. Texture: A texture is visual texture. the artist has given the appearance of the wrinkles by using line and tone.  Opinion: In my opinion,...
